Dark Heart Reclaims the Future with Debut EP ‘XYZ’ on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul

Dark Heart reclaims the future with his explosive Truesoul debut ‘XYZ’, blending LA vibes, Latin flair, and emotional techno energy into one unforgettable EP.

A New Star on Truesoul’s Horizon

Dark Heart reclaims the future of techno with his label debut on Truesoul, Adam Beyer’s forward-thinking sub-label. Once a Hollywood talent agent, Dark Heart — real name David — traded scripts for synths and is now making waves in the global electronic scene. With XYZ, he proves he’s not just participating in techno’s evolution — he’s shaping it.

From Talent Agent to Techno Trailblazer

His story is unconventional. Leaving a high-stakes job in Los Angeles to pursue music full-time, Dark Heart embraced uncertainty. What started as late-night studio sessions became a full-fledged career. He now crafts powerful dance floor anthems while drawing from a rich tapestry of influences — Hollywood structure, underground energy, and global collaborations.

Inside the Making of ‘XYZ’

Each track on XYZ is a bold, emotional statement. Amarha’s raspy vocals on the title track weren’t planned — she was sick during the recording — but it worked. “Happy accidents like that are why I love making music,” says Dark Heart. “It felt raw, imperfect, and real.”

‘Damn Good’ flips expectations by layering an upbeat vocal over a gritty, darker beat. He tested the track live — it slammed. He finished it immediately after that show, energized by crowd response. Meanwhile, ‘Cigarette’ pushes boundaries, pairing experimental vocals with haunting production, a blend sharpened by Colombian producer John Cala’s signature finesse.

Landing on Truesoul

The connection to Adam Beyer happened organically. Beyer supported one of Dark Heart’s early records, sparking a mutual respect. “Truesoul is fearless. It doesn’t box you in creatively,” says Dark Heart. “It’s the perfect home for this project.”

Authenticity Over Algorithms

When asked about advice for artists chasing top-tier labels, he’s clear: “Be yourself. Make what you love. The right people will find you.” For Dark Heart, authenticity isn’t a strategy — it’s the foundation.

Inspirations and Influences

Key Truesoul releases that shaped his journey?

  • Adam Beyer – Ignition Key: A masterclass in storytelling through sound.
  • Cristoph – Sleepless Nights: Emotional depth without vocals, a rare feat.
  • Roberto Capuano – Move It Man: A mix of acoustic energy and synth boldness.

What’s Next?

He’s tight-lipped about specific shows and releases. But LA can expect a major performance this summer, and May brings another drop of new music. “Big things are coming,” he teases. “This is just the beginning.”
