Death of DJ Godzi Being Investigated as Murder: Mystery Deepens in Ibiza Tragedy

The death of DJ Godzi is being investigated as murder following allegations of police violence during a house party in Ibiza. Family demands justice.

Ibiza, Spain –
The music world is reeling after the sudden and tragic death of DJ Godzi, a beloved Naples-born producer and performer known internationally for his decade-long presence in Ibiza’s club scene. Spanish authorities have opened a murder investigation following explosive claims that he died shortly after a violent encounter with law enforcement.

A Celebration Turns Fatal

The incident occurred during the night of Friday, July 18th, as Michele Noschese, known professionally as DJ Godzi, hosted a private party at his residence in Ibiza. Witnesses say the evening began with celebration, but turned dark when neighbors filed a noise complaint, prompting a visit from the Spanish Civil Guard.

According to early reports, an argument broke out between DJ Godzi and members of the police. Moments later, witnesses allege he was violently subdued and taken away by officers. Hours later, he was reportedly transferred directly to the morgue.

Family Outcry and Political Demands for Justice

The lack of transparency from Spanish officials has only intensified grief and suspicion. Godzi’s father, Giuseppe Noschese, told Corriere della Sera that authorities failed to notify the family promptly, only doing so after pressure from Italian officials. “Not a word from the Spanish media about Michele’s case,” he said. “I want the truth about what happened.”

Prominent political figure Fulvio Martusciello, a Member of the European Parliament for Forza Italia, has formally called for a complete autopsy and a full inquiry into the actions of the Spanish Civil Guard.

Who Was DJ Godzi?

Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Michele Noschese first rose to prominence as a professional footballer, playing for Napoli’s youth division, Napoli Primavera. After transitioning into music, he adopted the alias DJ Godzi and built a reputation for high-energy house sets, performances across Ibiza’s club circuit, and international tours.

For over a decade, he was a fixture in Ibiza’s electronic underground—respected for his passion, humility, and ability to energize a dance floor.

No Official Cause of Death

As of now, Spanish authorities have released no official cause of death. The case is reportedly under review, but communication has been limited. No charges have been filed, and no arrests have been announced.

Family members, legal teams, and fans across Europe are demanding answers.

A Pattern of Tragedy?

This case follows a string of high-profile deaths in Ibiza in recent weeks, raising concerns about law enforcement conduct and festival safety on the island. While each case varies in circumstance, the trend has drawn international scrutiny.

Remembering Michele Noschese

In mourning, tributes have poured in from fellow DJs, promoters, and fans. Social media has been flooded with photos and memories of Godzi’s sets, his signature smile, and the vibrant energy he brought to every stage.
