Florian Kruse: A Musical Journey of Evolution, Balance, and Passion

Discover how Florian Kruse’s music journey has evolved from deep house roots to melodic techno, balancing family life and creativity. A story of passion, persistence, and timeless inspiration.

A Lifelong Passion for Sound

Florian Kruse has lived and breathed music since his youth. Inspired by his older brother Vincenzo, he began teaching himself how to produce. That early curiosity laid the foundation for a career in electronic music that would span decades.

His early days saw success with the DJ duo Kruse & Nuernberg. Later, collaborations with his brother led to releases on top labels like Anjunadeep—a dream for many in the deep house scene.

Shaping a New Sound

As the music landscape evolved, so did Florian Kruse’s sound. From groovy deep house to melodic, trippy progressive house, his style became more textured and cinematic. Over time, he released on Poker Flat, Bedrock, Stil Vor Talent, and more.

This progressive house evolution was also influenced by collaborators like Julian Wassermann, who Florian met through social media. That connection led to releases on Kompakt and the memorable remix of Zog on his LNOE debut in 2019.

Cross-Continental Collaboration

In 2025, Kruse returns to Sasha’s label Last Night On Earth (LNOE) with a two-track EP alongside Dilee D—a connection born from a remix contest. Despite living in different countries—Florian in Hamburg, Dilee in Chicago—they created music that transcends borders.

“We’re living proof,” Florian says, “that music knows no boundaries.”

Inside the Label Game

When asked about getting signed, Florian Kruse’s music journey reveals a key strategy: relationship-building.

“I’ve collected emails and stayed connected with label owners for years,” he shares. “It’s not just about the track—it’s about the fit, the potential for gigs, and being part of a label family.”

He mentions labels like Poker Flat and Noir Music as his musical homes. He also admires Keinemusik’s collective model, where everyone benefits and plays together.

The Story Behind the Sound

One track title from the new EP stands out: Clockwork Mind. What inspired it?

“Time is always on my mind,” Kruse explains. “The older you get, the faster it moves. A clockwork mind is precise, efficient—something I strive for in music and life.”

Balancing Beats and Fatherhood

Florian Kruse isn’t just a producer—he’s a full-time father of two. Balancing family life and music hasn’t been easy. At one point, he quit his audio engineering side gigs to focus solely on music. But the pressure mounted.

“I realized I needed both—creativity and stability,” he says. “Being a dad forced me to manage my time better. Ironically, less time made me more productive.”

He recalls an intense Australia tour—four shows in 48 hours—just to support his family. “It was wild,” he laughs. “I was so in my bubble, I didn’t see how burnt out I was.”

Looking Ahead with Purpose

Now, with a refined sound and balanced life, Florian Kruse’s music journey continues to inspire. His collaborations, discipline, and unwavering love for music show that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about timing, growth, and staying true to your path.
