Jenny Hval, the visionary experimental artist, has officially announced her highly anticipated North American tour in support of her forthcoming album, Iris Silver Mist.
Alongside this exciting news, Hval has released a mesmerizing new track, “The Artist Is Absent,” available in two distinct versions: a studio recording and an extended mix titled “89 Seconds Rewrite.” , featuring Hval and artistic partner Orfee Schuijt.

Following the conclusion of her European tour this spring, Hval will kick off the North American leg in Los Angeles on September 5.
Her journey will take her through major cultural hubs, including San Francisco, Portland, Vancouver, Chicago, and Toronto, before culminating in a grand finale in Brooklyn. Fans can expect an immersive live experience, where Hval’s signature avant-garde soundscapes meet deeply evocative performances.

Named after a fragrance by master perfumer Maurice Roucel, “Iris Silver Mist “ is set to drop on May 2 via 4AD.
This eagerly awaited follow-up to 2022’s Classic Objects showcases Hval’s continued evolution as an artist, with tracks that push sonic boundaries while retaining her poetic lyricism.
Leading the album’s rollout is the hauntingly beautiful single “To Be a Rose,” which also received a striking visual treatment from Myhre.
Notably, much of the album’s material was developed and refined through live performances in 2024, emphasizing the organic and dynamic nature of Hval’s creative process.
