Electronic music pioneer Moby has unveiled his 23rd studio album, ‘Future Quiet’, out now via BMG, while simultaneously announcing his largest European tour in more than a decade. The release marks a reflective new chapter in his career, pairing deeply introspective new material with a long-awaited return to major live stages across the continent.
Arriving at a time of renewed interest in ambient and minimalist electronic music, Future Quiet positions Moby once again as a defining voice in the genre—one that continues to evolve more than 30 years after his breakthrough.
A contemplative new era: inside Future Quiet
With Future Quiet, Moby steps away from maximalism in favour of restraint, leaning heavily into piano-led compositions, ambient soundscapes and emotionally sparse arrangements. The album reflects his desire for calm amid an increasingly chaotic world, both sonically and thematically.
“As the world gets louder and crazier, I find myself needing the refuge of quiet,” Moby explained in a statement accompanying the release.
The album opens with an orchestral rework of ‘When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die’, featuring Jacob Lusk. The track has found renewed resonance after being featured in Stranger Things, introducing the song to a new generation while reaffirming its emotional weight decades after its original release.
Across the album, Moby blends cinematic textures with minimalist electronics, crafting a body of work that feels meditative, vulnerable and intentionally unhurried—an antidote to the relentless pace of modern digital culture.
Coachella performances confirmed ahead of European run
Alongside the album release, Moby has confirmed two high-profile performances at Coachella, taking place on April 10 and April 17, 2026. These appearances will serve as a rare opportunity for fans to experience Future Quiet material live before the artist embarks on an extensive European tour later in the summer.
The Coachella sets are expected to blend new compositions with carefully curated selections from Moby’s expansive catalogue, offering a bridge between his past and present creative identities.
Largest European tour in over a decade
Following Coachella, Moby will launch a 28-date European tour in summer 2026—his most extensive run across the continent in more than ten years. The announcement has already been met with overwhelming demand.
Several landmark shows have sold out within 24 hours, including:
- On The Beach Festival, Brighton – July 26
- Old Royal Naval College, London – August 15
- Irish Museum of Modern Art Kilmainham, Dublin – August 21
The rapid sell-outs underscore a renewed appetite for Moby’s live performances, following seven sold-out European shows in 2024.
Notably, Moby donated 100% of the profits from that 2024 run to European animal rights organisations—a continuation of his long-standing commitment to activism and ethical causes.
A return that blends legacy and purpose
With Future Quiet and a packed 2026 touring schedule, Moby’s return to Europe feels both timely and intentional. Rather than chasing trends, the album and live shows reinforce his role as an artist willing to slow things down, invite reflection, and prioritize emotional depth over spectacle.
As sold-out cultural landmarks and major festival stages await, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant years in Moby’s recent career—one defined not by reinvention, but by refinement.
Future Quiet is available now on all major streaming platforms.
